I’m often asked about the perfect everyday watch, and who my go-to omega replica
brand would be. As lovely as diamond set, métier d’art heavy timepieces are, they are, in terms of our frenetic day to day lives (the daily commute, the school run, a last minute dinner invite), simply not practical. Ninety per cent of the time, women want a dependable but stylish watch, a sort of put-on-and-forget-about accessory that’s functional and yet in tune with the rest of a considered wardrobe. The obvious choice is Rolex of course, and while you won’t be considered original or even vaguely left-field, your watch will be accurate, reliable and a design classic. Options are a-plenty - a Lady-Datejust 26mm in steel with a silver grey dial for example is smart and coolly chic; the new for 2016 bi-colour Lady-Datejust 28mm in steel and Everose gold with a chocolate dia l is warmer and richer in palette – a perfect winter watch (and note, no need for breitling replica watches
for it to feel luxurious). German brand Nomos Glashutte is a more niche proposition, producing design-conscious unisex mechanical watches that have won a slew of industry awards of late. The Neomatik Champagner collection with a pale pink/beige dial and neon orange detailing is beautifully slim and understated. All are equipped with an in-house movement, and retail at under £3,000. Nomos often states that its watches are favoured by architects and graphic designers, and it’s easy to see why: everything feels balanced and carefully conceived, from the font choice and the pale nubuck leather strap to the minimal dial design. But perhaps my favourite at the moment is from industry powerhouse Tag Heuer replica watches
with the re-released Lady Link. First launched in 1987, it’s undergone a re-fresh with an of-the-moment cushion shaped case and a re-worked bracelet that is slender, supple and wrist hugging.
